MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
  • All members must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. 
  • Members must be at least ETT certified (this can be obtained through free training with the corps)
  • Members must be approved by the sponsoring physician, board of directors, and the SVAC general membership (This is done by a vote at a regular business meeting).  Three no votes will mean a failure to make membership.
  • New members are placed on a six month probationary period.
  • Members are required to be on primary call status (designated shift) a minimum of two (2) twelve (12) hour shifts per week.
  • Members must attend business and training meetings regularly and obtain thirty (30) hours of in-house training each year.
  • New members will attend an eight hour Haz-Mat class provided by the ambulance corps before the end of the six (6) month probationary period.
  • Prospective members must have been a resident of SVAC's normal operations service area (Lowell Pt. to Mile 36) for at least six (6) months.
  • Members must hold a current Alaska Drivers license or military type drivers lincense.
